Classification of love!

Love is felt by one and all. How much one gives in, accepts, enjoys the feeling is what makes life worth it. But, do we really enjoy the happiness that love offers or do we just pretend that we do?

For arcane reasons, the month of February is said to be the month of love and romance and the remembrance of the death of Christian monk(s) is celebrated by lovers as D- day to express love

Love is the universal language spoken by one and all. Like any other language it has different accents requiring various levels of skill sets to understand and master. And unfortunately, one cannot afford to experiment many times. On most occasions, all one gets is one chance.

For all the sacred nature, the glory, the drama and most importantly the happiness that surrounds love, it is still hazy when it comes to realising what love is. Love has infinitely individualistic definitions which makes it even more mystifying.

Infatuation is the most associated word with love, it is almost like a sister concern. Infatuation is usually short-lived but .It is addictive and has no reasons. Almost all Homo sapiens go through it. Some say it is a quest for physical beauty. A survey says that the word is uttered by every father who has a daughter at least once.

The love that is most popular is the one based on friendship. This brings together two people who have tried loving others but have miserably failed and in the end compromise their friendship for love and pose as a couple for others .Love is platonic, no passion involved, hardly any intensity. But, they find happiness in being together.

There is the practical, pragmatic and parasitic side to it, these are for people in the forty fourth dimension who find reasons to work on Sundays. They are quite unique and they love whoever is the easiest to marry and more importantly who would not disturb a thing in their daily routine. Mutually beneficial, it augurs well for many. Divorces are inevitable.

The most dangerous kind is obsessive or possessive love. It is dangerous for the one who is at the receiving end and the one who usually delivers happens to suffer from more than one psychotic disorder. Extreme jealousy and obsessive desire is the X factor for such love, it leads them to do sense defying things. Usually it ends up in slitting, wrists if it is theirs and throats if it is the person they are in love with.

Selfless love is supposed to be the most satisfying type. Mother Teresa was the prototype for this kind of love in the modern era and many have followed suit. Love which demands nothing and gives everything considered divine, usually arises out of sympathy. Such people have a big forgiving heart and zero wants or desires of their own.

And then there is the most interesting kind, the one where a person is capable of loving more than one person but is incapable of staying committed to even one of them. Lies are the X factor here, free flowing and timely, they help to fill in the blanks. This kind of love is usually practiced a lot by the male version of Homo sapiens while the female versions like playing the victim as usual.

Finally, the simple, natural and trusting kind of love. Being there for one another to recognize, protect, comfort and give happiness.

With so many versions, it is quite hard to choose. And there is definitely more to it than what meets the eye as far as life goes.
